Katherine Fisher, OD

Following graduation from Springboro High School, Dr. Fisher attended The Ohio State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. After a brief career as a microbiologist, Dr. Fisher decided to return to school to earn her Doctorate of Optometry from The Ohio State University. "I've always enjoyed working and communicating with people. Optometry gives me the opportunity to help improve the vision of others and have a positive impact on their lives." She has been recognized with several awards for both academic and clinical excellence. She was awarded the J. Pat Cummings Scholarship for demonstrating the ideal eye care standards of practice; the Ohio Optometric Foundation Scholarship; and the John F. Schuller Scholarship for her commitment to community service and her work with visually impaired and developmentally disabled individuals. Dr. Fisher is excited to return to this community and provide care. She has a special interest in Pediatric care. "Many children have vision issues that go unnoticed and can impact their performance in school if left untreated. The American Optometric Association estimates that one in four children has a vision related problem that affects their ability to recognize, comprehend and retain information. Being able to ensure the kids in this community are not limited by their vision is the most rewarding part of optometry." She is certified in the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Association.
